I have recently used Houghton's for the second time due to the passing of my Mum on the 31st of October. I had previously used them for my Dad's funeral several years ago.
I cannot recommend them enough.
From start to finish, they provide an excellent service. Trish at the Lovely Lane office is just such a lovely person to deal with, a genuinely caring person with real empathy for you and the incredibly sad situation you are having to deal with when a loved one passes away.

I don’t post many reviews but feel I have to thank Trish publicly for a first class service which made my aunt’s farewell a dignified, flawless and emotional event. Living abroad meant organising the funeral could have been stressful but Trish gave me her personal phone number and was constantly in touch for reassurance. Two hours after we lost our mum we walked in to Houghton's feeling bewildered and having no idea what to do. Trish immediately made us feel at ease, she was so welcoming and friendly and genuinely caring. She made the saddest time of our life a lot more bearable and my brother and I will be forever thankful for all her help and support.
When you lose a parent you immediately feel as though you need a 'grown-up', even when you're in your thirties - Trish was exactly who we needed.
