From start to finish the staff at Houghton’s treated my brother and I with sympathy and respect.
The staff made life very simple, and the choices we had to make did not need to be rushed, as we were given time to deliberate and consider them.
We were kept up to date with the necessary information, and even advised that one of the songs had different artists and the one I’d recommended didn’t sound right. They were correct so another artist was chosen.

The compassion and resect that was shown to us all, including my 98 year old mum, who had sadly passed away was incredible. The much needed visits that we had with my mum, before the funeral, were made so much easier with the care and compassion shown to us all by everyone. Julie was incredible and even on the day of the funeral, bowing to to my mum in the hearse, made us feel how special my mum still was. After the sad passing of my sister I didn’t know which Funeral Director to use as it wasn’t expected. I contacted Houghtons and spoke to Trisha at the Lovely Lane Branch. Trisha was amazing. From her communication, empathy and understanding on that initially call I knew she was the one I wanted to help me through this very tough time. My sister didn’t want any fuss and had mentioned a simple cremation in her last few days. The whole process was explained clearly and the support from Trisha made it seamless and less stressful.
