Recently had the pleasure of asking Heavens Maid to professionally clean my parents headstone, plinth and flower vases attached at Acklam cemetery. It had been up for 14/15 years and although I’d cleaned it myself over the years it was white marble and had become green in places and a darkness to the back. The inscription had started to fade and it all needed redone. I rang several funeral directors in my area and the actual one I bought it from and their prices ranged to £1200 and all four said they would need to remove the whole plinth and headstone and the plinth was four foot long. My wife’s parent’s headstone lettering was in very poor condition. After contacting Heavens Maid they confirmed they can do this sort of work and have now regilded the lettering to a very high standard. Prior to doing the work Heavens Maid also pointed out that we may need the permission of the church, and this was obtained without any problem.
