I worked with Hannah to arrange the funeral for my life-partner Peter. Incongruous though it may sound, I enjoyed working with Hannah (who was well assisted by her colleague Maureen). The plan evolved simply through a meeting, email correspondence and a site visit. Arka undertook some successful negotiation 'behind the scenes' with a venue at which a funeral had never before been held. Arka dealt with 2 venues, the stationery, the music, the florist and the coffin maker, effectively and without fuss. All went well on the day on which Hannah led the funeral event in a garden. In an unusual and only slightly macabre twist, I get to review my service and coffin from ARKA in person. The ladies I dealt with were very respectful and polite from first contact to delivery of my eco coffin. Very reasonably priced, and very professional service, and I'm probably one of very few people who've just spent their first night in their own coffin, and with a few additions (a pillow, a quilt, etc) I can safely say it was a warm cosy night's sleep. My family used Arka for both my parents funerals. I can honestly say that the service and attention we received from this wonderful team was exemplary and they provided support and empathy right from the planning stage through to the actual funerals. They went above and beyond to accommodate our parents wishes including helping us find some obscure music from my Dads army days and getting permission for us to use it at his funeral. Arka funerals are fantastic, they handled our dad’s passing with such respect and care and guided a grieving family through such uncertain times. They tailored a lot of things to our needs and requirements and really helped us give our father the best possible send off. The entire team were amazing from the initial consultation all the way through to the funeral and beyond that.
