Mum had made her own arrangements 15 years earlier, but at 100, had since outlived most immediate family and friends, and the few remaining are spread far and wide and could not be expected to travel. So we opted to change to a simple cremation which, for us made it a more personal affair and not having to live up to ‘traditional expectations’.
