We chose Mears Family Funerals as they had taken care of my Dad's partner. When my Dad passed away we called Mears to make the arrangements and Philomena met with us to go through the arrangements. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very comfortable talking over his wishes and making the arrangements. This review is solely based on my experience and I shared my feedback with the firm for their response.
I did not find Mears' communication about any of the process from the start to be clear nor do I believe they made any effort to ensure key points were accurately conveyed and understood. Funeral homes claim that they can only act on information you give them but as vulnerable customers, this is pretty reckless as having a planned funeral is not always the case for most customers.
I had to chase them for key information and was given incomplete details about the funeral day itself.
