We recently lost our Son Bruce Thomson to cancer. James McEwan and Son were excellent from start to finish. They were so thoughtful, caring and kept us up to date on everything. Everyone we dealt with were so nice, and nothing was too much trouble. We used them before when my Parents passed which was 14 years ago, and at that time we decided that anyone else in our family would be cared for by them when they had passed. My Son was only 50 when he passed, but we knew he was in good hands with McEwans. I would recommend them to everyone.

We used James McEwan and sons following the sad passing of our mum in April 2025. Brian took us through the whole process from start to finish with the utmost respect, compassion and care. He took all of our opinions and views into account, and organised everything required for the funeral and nothing was too much bother! There are two contributing factors to this review, having used this company twice within the space of a year the service delivered between each funeral was chalk and cheese. On one hand they delivered a fantastic service and aftercare for a family member who was prominent within the community and every detail was catered for. The other service however was thrown together knowing there wasn't going to be as much business exposure and the aftercare was deplorable, ashes were handed to my family in a clear bag despite an urn being requested which resulted in embarrassment and hurt to my family to
