In my experience, even acknowledging the existence of the next of kin appeared to be too much trouble. Approaching them produced very little friendliness and even less information.
They assure families they “take great pride” in what they do.
If pride is measured by silence, lack of communication, and an impressive ability to avoid contacting the correct family member, then their pride must be immeasurable.
